Cooperation forum for culture

With the German-Czech exchange and cooperation platform we bring together independent art and cultural organizations in the border region of North Bohemia and Saxony. Our goal is to establish a long-term forum for mutual support and joint action.

We will start with research trips in the region to get to know the actors and their needs, challenges and potentials on the spot. In subsequent workshops, we will formulate common goals and strategies for the platform’s networking work and discuss fields of action from cultural practice in the border region, based on the following topics:

Organizational structures and financing models
Cultural education, citizen participation and civil society engagement.
Networking, partnerships and alliances with local communities, educational institutions, administrative authorities and the private sector.

Cultural policy advocacy and recommendations for action.
Regional and site development, revitalization and reuse strategies.
Creative industries, social entrepreneurship and tourism.

The event will be concluded by a two-part symposium with contributions from Germany and the Czech Republic (discussions, artistic interventions, performances, etc.). The symposium will also present the perspectives of the platform and open up impulses for future cooperation projects.

The project is supported by funds of the European Union and by the German-Czech Future Fund. GEH8 Kunstraum und Ateliers e. V. is supported by the City of Dresden and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony. Veřejný sál Hraničář is supported by the Statutory City of Ústí nad Labem, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Czech State Fund for Cinematography.

V česko-německé platformě pro výměnu a spolupráci sdružujeme nezávislé umělecké a kulturní organizace v pohraničí severních Čech a Saska. Naším cílem je vytvořit dlouhodobé fórum, které by společně jednalo a navzájem se podporovalo.

Výzkumné cesty v těchto regionech jsou začátkem pro vzájemné poznání aktérů, jejich potřeb, výzev a potenciálů každého místa. Po tomto výzkumu následují workshopy za účelem definování společných cílů a strategií pro propojení platformy a vytvoření rámcových oblastí aktivit dle kulturní praxe v přeshraničním regionu, a to v následujících tématech:

  1. Organizační struktury a modely financování.
  2. Kulturní vzdělávání, zapojení veřejnosti a občanská angažovanost.
  3. Síťování, partnerství a sdružení s místními komunitami, vzdělávacími institucemi, správními orgány a soukromým sektorem.
  4. Navrhování a tvorba pravidel, zastupování kulturních zájmů a doporučení k akci.
  5. Regionální a lokální rozvoj, strategie revitalizace a opětovného využití.
  6. Kreativní průmysly, sociální podnikání a cestovní ruch.

Závěrečnou etapou je dvoudílné sympozium s příspěvky pocházejícími z České republiky a Německa (diskuze, umělecké intervence, performance a mnoho dalších). Mimo to představí sympozium perspektivy platformy a dá impulsy pro budoucí projekty ve vzájemné spolupráci.

Projekt je financován Evropskou unií a se koná s finanční podporou Česko-německý fond budoucnosti. GEH8 Kunstraum und Ateliers e.V je financován nadací pro kulturu Svobodného státu Sasko a městem Drážďany, Veřejný sál Hraničář je financován Statutárním městem Ústí nad Labem, Ministerstvem kultury a Státním fondem kinematografie.
