Six photographs are the starting point of Stefan Lenke’s new exhibition. Perpetuated in passing as snapshots, these images are the meandering trail we follow in Lenke’s pictorial cosmos. His works are single images, which are shown here in blocks of works as a series. These works in small format are thereby of captivating clarity, clarity in reduction. Lenke experiments here with a flowing pictorial space and a captivating depth, which he creates through color intensity and a heterogeneous painterly ductus, when he uses spray can, pigment pen and acrylic to make his settlements on canvas and paper. Delicate yet powerful are these works. In his layered works, he opposes the virtual world, the digitality of our time something very own: Temporality and depth.
