Kunst.Raum.Konzerte present: Laurent de Schepper Trio meets David Pinzer

The Kunst.Raum.Konzerte provide a platform for the fusion of sound, image and space-based arts. There is always another art form associated with the music. Each band develops – in addition to playing their own pieces – a composition in real time together with the audience.

Laurent de Schepper Trio

Refreshingly open-ended electronic jazz comes from Saxony with the Laurent de Schepper Trio. After their furious debut Aquanaut, the genre-mixing jazz / indie formation released a mature follow-up – Into Olymp – in 2017, aiming for new peaks. In 2019, their latest vinyl Action at a Distance followed. Without Laurent, but with Isabel Fischer, Lars Oertel and Thomas Bär, it goes sometimes more in jazzy directions, sometimes rock forward and then again more in the direction of atmospheric cinematic music. Apart from conventional song structures, the Laurent de Schepper Trio creates a unique musical concept that permanently shifts the mix of basic musical elements into surprising new constellations. Complex arrangements, driven by bass (Isabel Fischer) and drums (Lars Oertel), form the backbone for the multi-faceted and effect-modified saxophone playing of Thomas Bär. Some listeners might think of the sound of Nils Petter Molvaer’s progressive now-jazz, Talk Talk’s ethereal art-pop, and Sonic Youth’s structural freedom in this mix. Their breathtaking live performances have already taken the Laurent de Schepper Trio to far-flung places like Israel.

David Pinzer

David Pinzer got into the maelstrom of photography through various travels – among others to India, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, South Africa and Indonesia. Through his encounters with other people and cultures, his desire to visually convey emotional experiences and stories through images matured. This passion has carried him from his self-taught beginnings to the present day. In the meantime, his work focuses on people, portrait and image photography, but he also feels at home in travel photography as well as in the areas of fashion and event photography. He has been working as a freelance photographer since 2011 and can draw on a wide-ranging creative network of stylists, designers and make-up artists. He prefers to work in special places to bring atmosphere into the pictures.
