Aleksey Manukyan and Arman Tadevosyan, Armenien

In the framework of the project “Integra DD – The International City”, the Kunstverein Galerie Raskolnikow has invited two artists from Armenia to a 5-week working stay in Dresden. Both have participated in the geh8-workshop “farsight – close up” in cooperation between the gallery Raskolnikow and the geh8 and use a studio of the geh8 in the period from 01.10. – 11.11.08.

Aleksey Manukyan

Aleksey Manukyan lives and works in Gyumri, Armenia. In 2008 he graduated in painting from the College of Fine Arts in Gyumri. With his artistic works he uses art as a language to overcome social, cultural and national conflicts. In his works, he creates an unexpected relationship between visual art products in connection or disconnection to the actual artwork. Together with his colleague Arman Tadevosyan he is the coordinator of the cultural group “5th floor” in Gyumri.

Arman Tadevosyan

Arman Tadevosyan lives and works in Gyumri, Armenia. In 2008 he graduated from the Visual Arts Department at the Gyumri University of Fine Arts. His works span a wide range of media: from film and photography to installation and performance. In his art, which is often created in conjunction with other young artists, the interpretation of geopolitical changes in Caucasus is an important creative challenge. Together with his colleague Aleksey Manukyan, he is the co-initiator of the cultural group “5th floor” in Gyumri.
