Artist Talk with Esmé Valk (Niederlande)

We would like to invite you to an artist talk with Esmé Valk (Netherlands) on Thursday, May 25 at 7:00 pm in the geh8 Kunstraum.

Esmé Valk is a guest artist at the Goethe Institute in Dresden during the months of May and June. In her artistic work she uses various media to investigate social choreographies. The interaction of concepts, physical movement and social processes is the starting point of her investigation. During her residency in Dresden, she will delve into the question of how a group ideology is expressed in physical form. To this end, the artist will turn her attention to the work and ideas developed by Emile Jaques-Dalcroze and Adolphe Appia in the garden city of Hellerau at the beginning of the last century.

During this presentation, Esmé Valk will provide insight into her working methods through visuals, as well as an introduction to her research project in Dresden. The talk will be held in English.
