“The imposture of small things” Arne Rautenberg (2025):
Judisch focuses our gaze on the small, incidental things of everyday life, which manifest themselves situationally with the help of sculptural forms and shifts in material, mostly through objects, graphics and interventions. With a playful lightness, he reacts to public and museum spaces with precise settings that provoke a subtle smile and make one’s own reality appear questionable.
Works by Thomas Judisch can be found in the collection of contemporary art of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as in the collection of the Art Fund of the Free State of Saxonyn, in museums such as the Museum Kunst der Westküste on Föhr, the Woods Art Institute in Wentorf near Hamburg, Gottorf Castle and Eutin Castle, the Städtische Galerie, Dresden, the Stadtgalerie Kiel and the Gerisch Foundation in Neumünster, and the collection of Ostsächsische Sparkassen and Sparkassen-Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein.
