Performance ,,Takes & Movements” with Maite Herborn, Edgar Neumann, Kevin Knödler, Johann von Ruthendorf

Maite Marie Herborn is a cultural studies scholar, freelance dancer, and choreographer based in Hildesheim and Dresden. Her work focuses on dance and theater education, interdisciplinary artistic intersections, and cultural-political and cultural-sociological practice-based research. As part of the collective interdisciplinary research project Motion in Sound (since 2024), she also explores accessibility and alternative forms of perception of dance and performance in various contexts.

Edgar Neumann is from Dresden, where he is currently studying saxophone and is a long-standing
member of the Saxony State Youth Jazz Orchestra. His particular focus, however, is on the bass clarinet, on which he can be heard in a wide variety of projects ranging from free jazz to neo-soul.

Double bassist Kevin Knödler is part of the award-winning band Anima and can be heard on albums
by the band morph and the Moritz Grübel Quartet. These projects demonstrate that he is equally at home in traditional and modern jazz as well as in free improvised music. His other activities include productions at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Landesbühnen Sachsen, and the Staatsoperette Dresden.

Johann von Ruthendorf studied classical music and jazz in Dresden. He devoted much of his time
to free improvisation and new music. In addition to his work as an orchestra educator at the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory in Dresden, he now works as a freelance musician and plays almost exclusively non-classical music in a wide variety of ensembles.
