Lange Nacht des Nichts

19.05.2012

Cordial invitation to the long night of nothing

We announced it – and now the time has come; the coming weeks at geh8 are dedicated to ‘nothing’ and its derivatives! In the spirit of John Cage “I have nothing to say ———– and I am saying it” we explore the edges of this concept – in different art forms (visual arts, music, dance, film) as well as in humanities and natural sciences. In the preparation, it turns out to a surprising degree how universal, topical and versatile this concept can be understood. We cordially invite you to the opening of the series:

Saturday, May 19:

7:30 pm – collective, performative reading of John Cage’s ‘Lecture on Nothing’.

9 pm – film night with in international short films and videos about: nothing.

Admission is free!

More announcements to follow. Names, texts, links and the whole program will be collected here – be sure to bookmark:

And if you are interested in the topic of nothing – if you would like to discuss it more or participate in the collective performance: We would like to invite you earlier on Saturday! It is planned to listen to an interesting interview on the topic of “nothing” from a mathematical – physical point of view with John Baez, a scientist who deals with the topic extensively. Afterwards there will be the possibility to talk about the topic, to exchange ideas, to discuss:
