The ELBE DOCK International Film Festival is a competitive showcase of the best short films from Central Europe and now also from Scandinavia. Every year, the festival also presents the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award for the best documentary film in both the short and feature film sections.  The festival programme also includes a selection of the best European feature debuts, documentary debuts and cult milestones.<\/p>\n

This year marks the 7th edition of the festival, but it is also the last one in this form. However, the audience does not have to say goodbye to ELBE DOCK completely, on the contrary, the festival’s creators promise big news. <\/p>\n

The ELBE DOCK festival will run in Dresden and \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem from 4 to 8 September. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In Dresden, the festival will be held from 6 to 8 September at the GEH8 cultural and artistic space. It will not only screen the best European short films nominated for the ELBE DOCK AWARD, many of which have already won awards at prestigious festivals, but will also offer a thematic industry programme, film debates and film bands for children. A new feature is the third competition section ELBE DOCK AWARD for Nordic short film, which brings with it the opportunity to see the best short films from Scandinavia alongside the best Central European short films. <\/p>\n

The ELBE DOCK NORDIC and CENTRAL Awards will be awarded on the evening of 7 September in Dresden. And the winning films will also be projected here. <\/p>\n

In addition to the aforementioned, the festival offers a great supporting programme. Specifically in Dresden, Germany, this means a performance by the Czech-Slovak Dance House or a walk with Ladislav Cumba.<\/p>\n

Film festival in the Czech Republic and Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the festival in \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem and Dresden is to connect Czech and German culture and promote Central European dialogue in the field of audiovisual production. Setting ELBE DOCK in the German Saxony, the Czech region of \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem is intended to stimulate the development of cultural infrastructure and film audiences in the border industrial area, which has long been neglected in this respect.<\/p>\n

The partnership with Germany brings another dimension of international cooperation to the festival, which has the potential to mutually inspire cultural events in both regions in the long term.<\/p>\n

In \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem, where the festival will take place from 6 to 9 September, the programme will include a screening of films nominated for the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award and the announcement of the winning film. The audience will also be able to see short films nominated for the ELBE DOCK Award, bizarre screenings, interesting debuts and much more. <\/p>\n
