The ELBE DOCK International Film Festival<\/strong> is a competition for the best short films from Central Europe. The program includes a selection of the best European feature debuts, AI films, documentary debuts and cult films. This year, the 6th edition of the festival will focus on the connection of humans and artificial intelligence in audiovisual art. For this reason, the theme chosen this year is “AIAI”.<\/p>\n

The ELBE DOCK Festival will take place from September 6 to 10 in Dresden and \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem. Films of the festival will be shown in Prague from September 14 to 16.<\/p>\n

In Dresden, the festival will take place from September 8 to 10 at the GEH8 Art and Cultural Center<\/strong>. Not only will the best European short films nominated for the ELBE DOCK AWARD<\/strong> be shown, many of which have already won awards at renowned festivals. There will also be a thematic industry program, film debates and film series for children. A Czech-German exhibition “Transcendent Station: Artists’ Convergence in Artificial Intelligence” will also address the topic of artificial intelligence. The program also includes unconventional film experiences in the form of a PONO DJ event or a screening of the cult film “The Room.” The closing event will take place in Dresden on the evening of September 9, where the organizers will announce the winner of the ELBE DOCK AWARD and show the winning film.<\/p>\n

Film festival in the Czech Republic and Germany<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the festival in \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem and Dresden is to connect Czech and German culture and to promote Central European dialogue in the field of audiovisual production. The festival venue in Saxony, in the Czech region of \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem and in the Czech capital of Prague is intended to stimulate the development of cultural infrastructure and film audiences not only in the border region, which has long been neglected in this respect.<\/p>\n

The German-Czech partnership brings another dimension of international cooperation to the festival, which has the potential to mutually inspire cultural events in both regions in the long term.<\/p>\n

ELBE DOCK AWARD and Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Prize<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year the festival awards two different film prizes. The ELBE DOCK AWARD is presented in the short film category (feature, experimental, animation and documentary films). The Pavel Kouteck\u00fd AWARD is closely associated with the festival and is awarded to the best Czech first or second documentary films by filmmakers in both the feature film and short film sections.<\/p>\n

In \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem, where the festival will take place from September 6 to 9, the program will include the nominated films for the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award and the announcement of the winning film. The audience will also be able to see short films nominated for the ELBE DOCK Award, films created with the help of AI, film premieres and much more.<\/p>\n

In Prague, the program will take place from September 14 to 16 at the Kaval\u00edrka Cinema and will show a selection of films from the festival’s program by and starring women.<\/p>\n

Zasazen\u00ed ELBE DOCKu do n\u011bmeck\u00e9ho Saska, \u010desk\u00e9ho \u00dasteck\u00e9ho kraje a Prahy m\u00e1 za \u00fa\u010del podn\u011bcovat rozvoj kulturn\u00ed infrastruktury a filmov\u00e9ho publika v pohrani\u010dn\u00ed pr\u016fmyslov\u00e9 oblasti, kter\u00e1 byla v tomto sm\u011bru dlouho zanedb\u00e1v\u00e1na.<\/p>\n

Festival ka\u017edoro\u010dn\u011b ud\u011bluje 2 r\u016fzn\u00e1 ocen\u011bn\u00ed. Vlajkov\u00e1 cena festivalu ELBE DOCK AWARD je ud\u011blov\u00e1na v kategorii kr\u00e1tkometr\u00e1\u017en\u00edch film\u016f (hran\u00fdch, experiment\u00e1ln\u00edch, animovan\u00fdch dokument\u00e1rn\u00edch). S festivalem je \u00fazce spojena i Cena Pavla Kouteck\u00e9ho a bude ud\u011blena nejlep\u0161\u00edmu \u010desk\u00e9mu dokument\u00e1rn\u00edmu prvn\u00edmu \u010di druh\u00e9mu filmu tv\u016frce, a to jak v celove\u010dern\u00ed, tak kr\u00e1tkometr\u00e1\u017en\u00ed sekci.<\/p>\n
