The ELBE DOCK International Film Festival is a competition presenting film students and debut and second films by filmmakers from Central Europe. The ELBE DOCK AWARD is presented in the short film category (feature, experimental, animation and documentary). The 16th Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award is closely connected with the festival and will be awarded to the best Czech first or second documentary films by filmmakers in both the feature film and short film sections. The competition program is complemented by a non-competitive selection of the best films from Troms\u00f8 (Norway), Gothenburg (Sweden) and Berlin (Germany) called TroGoBer. The festival is distinguished by its accompanying program, which focuses on opportunities to try out, think about and play with film and audiovisual arts for all ages.<\/p>\n

The festival will take place in Germany and the Czech Republic from May 12-22, 2022.<\/p>\n

Connecting German and Czech culture and promoting Central European dialogue in the field of audiovisual production is one of the main goals of the festival. By locating ELBE DOCK in the German state of Saxony, the Czech region of \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem and Prague, the festival aims to promote the development of cultural infrastructure and film audiences in an industrial border region that has long been neglected in this regard. The partnership with Germany adds another dimension of international cooperation to the festival, which has the potential to enrich cultural events in both regions in the long term.<\/p>\n

In Dresden, the festival will take place May 20-21 at the GEH8 art space. The award-winning films of the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award, the award-winning Czech short films of the Czech Film Award Czech Lion, the competition films of the ELBE DOCK Award and a selection of the best films of the world festivals called as TroGoBer will be shown. There will also be a discussion about the future of the \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem region and Saxony and the future of film education. The future theme will be complemented by a German-Czech exhibition, industry networking, city tours, screenings of competition films and a musical performance by Jakub K\u00f6nig (known as Kittchen).<\/p>\n

In Prague, the program will take place from May 12 to 15 at the Kaval\u00edrka Cinema: a preview of the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award, a program for students promoting films and video games, a trailer evening, Czech premieres of films from world festivals, and a meeting of Radio Wave’s host duo Buchty with the famous Czech documentary filmmaker V\u00edt Klus\u00e1k.<\/p>\n

In \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem, the program will take place from May 18 to 21 in the Bunker (a nuclear bunker from the 1960s, which will be specially opened to festival visitors and the public during ELBE DOCK), where we will present all the films of the Pavel Kouteck\u00fd Award, the award ceremony and a Czech-German exhibition on the theme Quo Vadis \u00dast\u00ed? In the Public Hall Hrani\u010d\u00e1\u0159 will be shown mainly Czech premieres from world festivals and films nominated for the ELBE DOCK Award.<\/p>\n
