Der Workshop bot den Teilnehmer*innen die M\u00f6glichkeit, mit offenen Augen durch ihre Umgebung zu gehen, Materialien neu zu entdecken und kreativ zu verwandeln.\r\n\r\nDurch das Gestalten mit Fundst\u00fccken und Recycling-Materialien wurde nicht nur die kreative Ausdrucksf\u00e4higkeit der Jugendlichen gef\u00f6rdert, sondern auch ihr Bewusstsein f\u00fcr Ressourcenschutz gest\u00e4rkt. Schritt f\u00fcr Schritt entstand aus vermeintlichem Abfall etwas K\u00fcnstlerisches und gleichzeitig ein tieferes Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr den eigenen Umgang mit Konsum und Wegwerfverhalten.\r\n\r\nDie entstandenen Kunstwerke machten sichtbar, welche Auswirkungen das achtlose Wegwerfen von M\u00fcll auf unsere Umwelt hat. Die Teilnehmer*innen berichteten, dass sie nach dem Workshop allt\u00e4gliche Dinge mit anderen Augen sahen und bewusster dar\u00fcber nachdachten, was sie konsumieren und wegwerfen.\r\n\r\nIm Verlauf des Projekts lernten die Jugendlichen verschiedene k\u00fcnstlerische Techniken kennen. Durch die Methoden erweiterten sie ihre gestalterischen M\u00f6glichkeiten und entwickelten ein Gesp\u00fcr f\u00fcr Formen, Farben und Strukturen.\r\n\r\nEbenso wichtig war die gemeinsame Arbeit: Ideen wurden geteilt, Materialien ausgetauscht, L\u00f6sungen gemeinsam gefunden. Diese aktive Zusammenarbeit st\u00e4rkte den Teamgeist und schuf ein Gef\u00fchl der Zusammengeh\u00f6rigkeit.\r\n\r\nZum Abschluss des Projekts pr\u00e4sentierten die Teilnehmer*innen ihre Kunstwerke in einer Pop-Up-Ausstellung vor Eltern, Freund*innen und Familie. Die Begeisterung und das Staunen \u00fcber die kreativen Ergebnisse waren gro\u00df. Die Pr\u00e4sentation machte eindrucksvoll deutlich, dass nachhaltigeres Denken und Handeln nicht trocken oder belehrend sein m\u00fcssen.\r\n\r\n\u201eTrashformers \u2013 wenn aus M\u00fcll Kunst wird!\u201c hat gezeigt, dass Ver\u00e4nderung mit kleinen Schritten beginnt: mit offenen Augen, mit Fantasie und mit dem Mut, aus Altem etwas Neues zu schaffen.\r\n\r\nDie Workshopwoche fand in den Herbstferien vom 06. bis zum 10. Older people have a wealth of life experience that is worth hearing and recording, as do young people. By combining comics and text, personal experiences and memories could be expressed in a unique way. The resulting comics and texts created valuable and creative mementos that stimulated and will continue to stimulate exchange between the generations. Part of the workshop also included a visit to Bibo Pieschen to gain insight into the genres of graphic novels and comics. Seniors from the Dresden Senior Academy also took part in the workshop.\r\n\r\nA selection of the resulting works can be viewed until June 9 in the window display area of DresdnerNachbarschaft60plus. When the office is open, additional works can also be viewed indoors. Writing together, growing together.\r\n\r\nThe writing workshop offered seniors the opportunity to express their individual experiences and perspectives while forming connections through creative writing and exchange. Writing enabled them to put their thoughts, fears, dreams, and hopes into words. We wrote together without judgment and experienced the fun of how creative techniques can elicit the unexpected. What was, what remains, what will come? What should be passed on? A look at the past, present, and together at the future. As part of the project, we visited a nursing home in Dresden to talk to the residents and share their life stories. Graffiti forms an integral part of the visual landscape that surrounds us in everyday life. This phenomenon raises the question of space and ownership: Who is claiming vacant spaces and areas? What resources remain? The effects of inequality also manifest themselves in limited opportunities for social participation due to the scarcity of space, both in nature and on a cultural level. In distribution battles, the winner always seems to triumph in his dominance - but does \u201cthe winner takes it all\u201d really apply? Through an intensive examination of graffiti and street art, the participants were encouraged to reflect on the realities of their own lives. Digital and analog - scissors, spray cans, glue, cameras and tripods were pulled out and used in two different themed projects.\r\n\r\nFrom Monday to Wednesday, headpieces and costumes were crafted in geometric shapes. Particular attention had to be paid to the design of the head area. How do I design it so that my field of vision is preserved and how does my freedom of movement remain to be stable enough at the same time? First, the first sketches were drawn on a large poster in the workshop room, among other things. After that, the young people could start building the small models. In the emergence of the right costumes could now be seen what can be implemented and what may need to be changed. With the finished creations, a foray through Pieschen began. An extraordinary sight for the residents, who suddenly got to see the colorful creations!\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFrom Wednesday to Friday, the last day of the fall course with presentation, the editing programs on the laptops and the cameras were running hot. For a fictitious GEH8 mayoral election, the young people divided into three groups and filmed election commercials for the respective parties. These were to be between 30 and 90 seconds long. With the KPD (Art Party of Germany), the WTF Party (What-the-Fly-Fungus Party) and the PDB (Party of the Best), different interests were represented: from art to the environment to me-is-the-rest-egal. The result was three creative and partly satirical short videos, which provided a lot of smiles, grins and also information transfer during the presentation.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis last OURSPACE course marks the end of two project years in the field of cultural education at GEH8. Under the guidance of the two wonderful mentors Christian R\u00e4tsch and Andr\u00e9 Tempel, many young people were able to spend a great time during their vacations, let off steam creatively and were supported and motivated by both of them with words and deeds. All participants as well as the two OUR SPACE mentors Christian R\u00e4tsch and Andr\u00e9 Tempel were again energetically on the fallow land. During the two weeks it became especially green: a botanical garden with a raised bed found its place in the area between the camp center and the sports field at the skater hall. With a lot of tact, all kinds of plants that can be found on the area found a common place there and can be explored and looked at in peace.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe physical well-being was also not neglected during these two weeks. Where previously the tables for the dining area had been colorfully sprayed, the participants and mentors built a roofed construction, including a fireplace. Comfortably they could eat, grill and talk together, no matter if it was sunny, rainy or windy. Especially stick bread and potatoes were a big hit at lunch!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn a final major project during the three weeks of the camp, a lot of background knowledge about the specific location was also involved. The participants worked up their new knowledge for visitors to the specially created brownfield history center. The Alte Leipziger Bahnhof is marked as a historical site for the city of Dresden before and during the Nazi regime. Despite its entrenched past and an uncertain future, the brownfield site is a space with a lot of potential. What can still be built?\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYour suggestions and ideas can be shaped in a final fall course as part of OUR SPACE, the cultural education area of GEH8, from October 18 - 22. And once again, none of your ideas are too crazy! Its democratically established constitutional principles were creativity, neutrality and friendliness and applied to all who entered the camp. As befits a republic, all participants received a passport that had to be shown upon entering the camp in the morning. Also a flag could not be missing, which was already recognizable from a distance! The principles were handwritten in the constitution and the constitutional scroll got its permanent place at the central square of the republic.\r\n\r\nThis was made possible by Frei.Raum.Direkt, a project of the newly created action field GEH8 urban. Frei.Raum.Direkt. created the content-related and spatial conditions to which we could congenially dock with OurSpace - in the context of our commitment to the cultural education of children and young people.\r\n\r\nDespite the hot temperatures on the wasteland, we sawed, screwed, glued, sprayed and built for all it was worth. Under the guidance of our mentors Andr\u00e9 Tempel and Christian R\u00e4tsch, as well as our guest Miodrag Ku\u010d from ZK\/U Berlin (Center for Art and Urbanism), everything available on the site was used. Old cover plates of the railroad tracks became signposts for the camp. An old chair without a seat or back was transformed into a functional design object using sticks and foam. This could be found together with a self-built matching table in the Art Space with other art objects. Shards and other objects were declared an archaeological institute, whose origin and function could only be guessed at.\r\n\r\nThe purple-green installation by the architect and artist collective Umschichten from Stuttgart offered ample possibilities for expansion and restructuring. A wooden board became a blackboard and served as an overview for upcoming dates as well as an archive for past events on the wasteland. It could be populated with new program items by everyone at any time. The colored wooden beams were used for other larger projects. The participants built a bridge with a viewing platform with a lot of physical effort. This created a connection between the camp and the covered part on the wasteland, which is often used for sports activities with boards and rollers. From the remaining beams and slabs it was possible to build an outpost between trees in the shade. This was also urgently needed to escape the hot midday sun.\r\n\r\nOn the last day of Summer Camp N\u00b0 1, parents and friends came to visit and get to know the Republic of Eye. What was built and erected during the camp week? With a big tour over the area and a sporty interlude, which was exercised with wooden beams on the huge open space, the projects could be marveled at and tested. Finally, a cozy exchange was possible at the barbecue, which let a week full of creativity and physical effort quietly come to an end. Freshly primed, the concrete feet of the flag installation were like a white canvas on the first day of the workshop. But that didn&#039;t last long! Already at the first meeting, the participants started their attempts at graffiti with bright colors.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n\r\nImages \u00a9 Tiziana Foit\r\n\r\nThanks to the support of SPIKE URBAN, there was a huge table full of materials on each workshop day, which the participants* could freely help themselves to. There was nothing left to be desired in order to get creative! With the right materials, it&#039;s much easier to work. The spray heads - the small &quot;heads&quot; of the graffiti cans - are available in a variety of designs, e.g. to spray surfaces better or to draw finer lines.\r\n\r\nOn the second day of the workshop, we were finally able to get started: with the participants&#039; first real designs. But we found graffiti from another event on the concrete feet. But no problem! Because graffiti colors can be easily sprayed over other pictures, modified - so you can work with them and complement them. The participants were able to work much better with their own sketches. They could see directly on the object whether the proportions fit. All course participants supported each other with ideas and help... real team work!\r\n\r\nOn the last day of the workshop, things got colorful... With the finished stencils, it was off to work. Thanks to the cut-out shapes, the participants were able to create the concrete feet of the flag installation in no time.\r\n\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\nBy the way: Course instructor Christian also immortalized himself on the concrete feet of the flags. The result was a fresh pineapple on a South Sea island in the ocean. During the fall vacations, the OUR SPACE workshop week was not just about creating pictures or films that you can simply look at in the end. This time, both body and mind were put to work.\r\n\r\nInspired by the works of the artists Willi Dorner (Bodies in Urban Spaces) and Erwin Wurm (One Minute Sculptures), the workshop participants became living sculptures. First, they went on a search for clues: in which places in Pieschen are there unusual climbing opportunities? Where are there gaps that can be filled? Once the right places had been found, the group thought about how they could present themselves in an unusual way. The group was also concerned with everyday questions: How do I present myself in public and how do others see me? What effect does my posture have or what am I perhaps ashamed of? It is much easier to jump over one&#039;s own shadow and behave in a way that is not quite &quot;normal&quot; if one dresses up. Welche Dinge lassen sich finden, zu denen noch nicht erz\u00e4hlte Geschichten erfunden werden k\u00f6nnen. Unterwegs in Pieschen beginnt die Kreativit\u00e4t. In den n\u00e4chsten Tagen sammeln unsere Teilnehmer*innen im \u201eArchiv der Dinge\u201c ihre Fundst\u00fccke, geben ihnen Titel und verpassen ihnen eine passende Story. Jetzt ist der Blick gesch\u00e4rft und es kann endlich losgehen mit Ideen zu selbst gebauten Monstern in M\u00fclltonnen und vielem mehr. Schaut einfach selbst! You will be supported by our patent and sympathetic course leaders Andr\u00e9 Tempel and Christian R\u00e4tsch.\r\n\r\nThe artist Andr\u00e9 Tempel first trained as a machine and plant fitter in his hometown of Schwedt\/O.. Then he studied at the University of Applied Arts Schneeberg and sculpture and spatial concepts at the University of Fine Arts Dresden. His best-known work is the sculpture AMALIA, which was sponsored by the Art Commission City of Dresden and the Office for Culture and Monument Protection of the state capital Dresden and stood for a year on a green space in Dresden&#039;s center. Exhibitions and projects outside Dresden have taken him to Halle 14\/Leipzig, the Geoff Stern Art Space in Berlin, the Sculpture Triennale in Bingen am Rhein, as well as to Hanoi\/Vietnam, Brno\/Czech Republic and Bergen\/Norway, among others.\r\n\r\nAndr\u00e9 is our expert when it comes to staging your works and actions in public space - i.e. directly on site and not just hidden away in the studio. Not only at the summer course URBAN ART 2020 you can let off steam around Street Ar and art in public space...\r\n\r\nChristian R\u00e4tsch is a visual artist, freelance lecturer and operator of VASISTAS, an agency for digital art mediation and blog on contemporary artistic positions and actors in Dresden. In addition to his artistic activities, he worked for a long time in marketing for the DDV Media Group and hosted a YouTube format for Dresdner Morgenpost and the S\u00e4chsische Zeitung for a year on the topic of education and career entry. Christian is on two tracks, so to speak, while always keeping an eye on the intersections between all these fields of activity. When he graduated from high school, he actually wanted to study film directing. In the end, he shot his first films with an ambitious group of friends at the age of 14. His path first led him to Hamburg, with an internship in television and an assistant directing position at the theater. But then a change of heart led him to Dresden, where he studied at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Bildende K\u00fcnste from 2006 to 2012.
