GEH8 is based in a former wagon repair workshop on a wasteland in Dresden Pieschen. The building and its surroundings always developed a power of their own. Now the entire site is being given a new purpose: Two schools for 2,000 students are being built on the previously fallow land, and green spaces and paths are also being laid out. Nothing will ever be the same again.<\/p>\n

We are calling for ideas and concepts from all disciplines. These should use artistic means to document, reflect, interpret or illustrate the metamorphosis, the process of change, of GEH8 from today to 2020.<\/p>\n

We will gladly provide further information material about GEH8 and its location.<\/p>\n

We will award the best concept with a prize money of 500 Euro.
\nFurthermore, the implementation of the idea will be supported. At the end of the change process in 2020, the artist will present his work in GEH8, e.g. in the form of an exhibition.<\/p>\n

The selection
\nThe selection will be made by a jury consisting of representatives of GEH8 (board and artist) and two external experts.<\/p>\n

\nPlease send concepts and idea proposals informally to mail@geh8.de. Postal mailings will only be accepted in exceptional cases and can only be returned if a sufficiently stamped envelope is enclosed.<\/p>\n

The selected artists will be notified by August 12, 2017. We ask for your understanding that for organizational reasons individual cancellations are not possible.<\/p>\n
